He worked as post-doc in the Medical University of Lodz (Poland) and the University of Antwerp (Belgium). From 2004 he is working as the Associate Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Collegium Medicum, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Bydgoszcz (Poland). He published near 250 scientific publications, edited 12 special topic issues of international scholary journals and 2 books on herbal plants in functional foods.

Prof. Cristóbal Noé Aguilar is Dean of the School of Chemistry at Autonomous University of Coahuila, México. He is Chemist (1992) by the same institution; his MSc Program in Food Science and Biotechnology (1995) was held in the Autonomous University of Chihuahua, México. His PhD Program in Fermentation Biotechnology (2000) was given by the Metropolitan Autonomous University, Mexico. He was working in a Posdoc stay (2001) in the IRD-Marselle, France. Dr. Aguilar has published more than 200 papers published in indexed journals, more than 50 articles in Mexican journals; 16 book chapters, 8 mexican books, 7 editions of international books, 34 proceedings and more than 350 contributions in scientific meetings. Professor Efterpi Christaki, Laboratory of Nutrition, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She is veterinarian, nutritionist, graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In 2015-2017, she was the Head of the Department of Animal Production, Ichthyology, Ecology and Protection of the Environment. Dr hab. Stanisław Pluta, prof. IO – graduated the Agricultural Academy, Faculty of Horticultural in Lublin in 1983. The scientific worker at the Research Institute of Pomology and Floriculture (1985-2010) and at the Research Institute of Horticulture (since 2011) in Skierniewice, Poland. He is a geneticist and breeder of new cultivars of blackcurrant (Ribes nigrum L.), gooseberry (Ribes grossularia L.), highbush blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum l.) and Saskatoon berry (Amelanchier sp.) in the Department of Breeding of Horticultural Crops. He obtained his PhD (1994) and habilitation (2009) at the former Research Institute of Pomology and Floriculture in Skierniewice.
He completed longer training research internships in Scotland, the Netherlands and the USA. He actively participated in many foreign and national conferences and symposia in different counties. He has been coordinator or contractor of 12 domestic and foreign research projects and grants. A regular or honorary member of several domestic and foreign organizations and associations. He is an author and co-author of over 100 original publications and scientific reports, monographs and implementation instructions as well as over 130 popular-science articles for growers. Author of 10 new blackcurrant (‘Tisel’, ‘Tiben’, ‘Ores’, ‘Tines’, ‘Ruben’, ‘Gofert’, ‘Polares’, ‘Tihope’, ‘Polonus’ and ‘Polben’) and 2 gooseberry (‘Hinsel’ and ‘Reseika’) cultivars.
Célia Quintas, PhD, Professor at Institute of Engineering
Célia Quintas, got her Diploma in Biology from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, a Master of Science in Food Science and Technology and a PhD in Agro-Industry Engineering from the Institute of Agronomy of the University of Lisbon. Célia Quintas is a Coordinator Professor of Microbiology with tenure, at the Department of Food Engineering, Institute of Engineering of the University of the Algarve (Portugal) where she coordinates the Laboratory of Microbiology and Food Safety. She teaches Food Microbiology, Food Microbial Analysis, Biotechnology of Foods and Integrated Laboratories to undergraduate students and Industrial Microbiology, Microorganisms and Food Safety, Production of Mediterranean Food and Seminar to master students. Presently, she is the director of the Department of Food Engineering.
Célia is a member of the Center for Mediterranean Bioresources and Food (MeditBio) (University of the Algarve) where she integrates the research line Food Science and Technology. Her research interests have been mostly focused on the study of microbial quality of fruit and vegetables with emphasis in spoilage, hygienic and safety parameters (Salmonella sp., Listeria monocytogenes and Cronobacter sakazakii), according to the European legislation. Additionally, her research also focuses on food preservation technologies such as electrolyzed water, UV-C radiation and fermentation of traditional Mediterranean foods. Her expertise includes the identification of yeasts as well as studying their technological properties in food fermentation matrices. The results of her work have been published/presented in over 40 scientific publications or communications in various journals, books, workshops and congresses.

Mihaela Begea Associate professor and senior scientist, Faculty of Bioengineering Systems from the University Politehnica of Bucharest, Romania. Her research background is on food science and technologies; she has a PhD in food engineering and postdoctoral studies in industrial biotechnologies.

Prof. Gursoy holds a Food Engineering Diploma from Celal Bayar University (Manisa, Turkey), an MS in Food Engineering from the Pamukkale University (Denizli, Turkey) and a PhD in Food Technology from Ege University (Izmir, Turkey). He was in University of Helsinki (Finland) as visiting researcher in 2005-2006 and in University of Wisconsin, Madison (USA) as visiting Professor in 2013. He is member of Turkish Society of Microbiology, Turkish Society of Toxicology and Turkish Chamber of Food Engineers.
He published more than 70 scientific papers in high quality national and international scientific journals; and participated and made over 50 presentations in scientific meetings in the field of food science and technology. He is co-author of 4 international and 1 national book chapters. He currently serves as Editor in chief for the Akademik GIDA (Academic Food Journal) (since 2008) and in the Editorial Board of the Emirates Journal of Food and Agriculture (since 2015). Cristina L.M. Silva is Associate Prof. at Portuguese Catholic University – College of Biotechnology (ESB). She is Chem. Eng. and PhD in Biotechnology and Food Engineering, and is involved in research on quality and safety of processed foods, with special emphasis on mathematical modelling and optimisation of the processes. She has been institutional leader of several national and international projects, and coordinator of the projects ISEKI_Food 3 and ISEKI_Mundus 2, and FP7 KBBE project Track_Fast. She defended Bachelor’s degree in biology (2001) and Master’s degree in chemistry (2003) in Vytautas Magnus University (Lithuania), and doctoral thesis in agronomy (2008) in Aleksandras Stulginskis University (Lithuania). She is a lecturer at Aleksandras Stulginskis University since 2006 year.
She is coordinating the research in the fields of plant photosynthesis, photomorphogenesis, flowering initiation and metabolism, using novel analytical methods. She has published 3 book chapters, 24 publications in ISI WoS data base journals with impact factor. She is the co-author of European patent. 2012 – 2013 Scholarship and prize of the Lithuanian Academy of Science; 2014 Lithuanian Science Award; Silver medal of Vytautas Magnus university (2015).

Ana Sanches-Silva, Researcher at the National Institute of Agrarian and Veterinary Research
Ana Sanches-Silva is a researcher at the National Institute of Agrarian and Veterinary Research (INIAV, I.P.) in Portugal. She obtained the degree in Pharmacy by the University of Coimbra, Portugal, and received her European Ph.D. in Pharmacy from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, with honours. In addition, she was awarded with the prize for best Ph.D. student. After two years post-doc at this university through competitive programmes, she joined the National Institute of Health Dr Ricardo Jorge (INSA, I.P.), in Lisbon, Portugal, where she worked over a decade in different projects as researcher before joining INIAV in May 2017.
Ana Sanches-Silva has a good track record (over 100 scientific contributions, mainly in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, Scopus H index of 20). Her research interests are focused on the evaluation of safety and composition of food and food packaging. Moreover, her special interest is the development of active packaging, study of food-packaging interactions, especially the migration from packaging to food, and development of analytical methodologies for the analysis of food contaminants and bioactive compounds.

Jin Su Jeong is a Researcher Professor at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain). He was received his MS in Architecture from the Texas A&M University, College Station(United States) in 2006, his PhD with International Mention and Suma Cum Laude in Graphic Engineering, Geomatics and Projects from the Universidad de Extremadura in2014 (Spain), and a Bachelor degree of Architecture from the Chonnam NationalUniversity in 2002 (South Korea). For his doctoral dissertation, he has done different doctoral research stays and collaborations.

Dr. Alma VALIUŠKAITĖ is senior researcher and head of Laboratory of plant protection Institute include: research on the biology, ecology and diversity of horticultural pathogen and pest species, abundance and distribution of pathogen and pest populations, epidemiology of diseases. Development of forecasting methods of harmful organisms and IPM of horticultural crops. The investigation of Horticulture Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry.
Significant research areas of alternative and biological plant protection in horticulture. Efficacy trials of the new plant protection products according to Good experimental practice standards. Experience in the implementation of National Action Plan for Sustainable Use of Pesticide. Participation as a manager and executor of national public institutions, entities sponsored research projects, international research programs and conferences. Pedro Dinis Gaspar
Pedro Dinis Gaspar has a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is a Professor in the Department of Electromechanical Engineering of the University of Beira Interior (UBI), Portugal. He is an integrated researcher at the R&D Centre for Mechanics and Aerospace Science and Technologies (CMAST) and a collaborator researcher at the ALLab – Assisted Living Computing and Telecommunications Laboratory, Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT). He is the Coordinator of the courses of M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management at UBI. He has the last Coordinator of the course of M.Sc. in Bioengineering.
He has participated/coordinated several national and international research projects as well as in R&D&I contracts with industry, mostly, related to the agrifood industry. He has authored or co-authored more than 180 papers in refereed book chapters, journals and conferences proceedings and he is author of 3 patents. He was the editor of the “Handbook of Research on Advances and Applications in Refrigeration Systems and Technologies”, IGI Global, August, 2015. Research Interests:

Gassan Hodaifa Meri, Food Engineer
Gassan Hodaifa Meri Food Engineer (Albaath University, Syria), Chemical Engineer (Granada University, Spain) and Dr. by Jaén University (Spain) in the Doctoral Program: Biotechnology and Agricultural Engineering. His research began in the year 1997 with a Doctoral Scholarship to perform in Spain. Till then he participated in 20 research projects (European, National, regional, and with companies), with which it has signed several contracts for research.
As a result of this research activities has been published 47 articles, 41 articles in journals included in JCR, 1 patent, 2 books, 32 book chapters, and has participated in 91 Congress are most international first class in scope. He has been repeatedly Associate Professor (University of Jaén), and Assistant Professor at the University of Jaén (05/06) and the Complutense University of Madrid (06/09). Now he works in Pablo de Olavide University, Seville (Spain) in the Molecular Biology and Biochemical Engineering Department/Chemical Engineering Area as Associate Professor.
Nadjib Drouiche, Senior researcher
Nadjib Drouiche is a senior researcher at the Centre de Recherche en Semi-Conduceurs pour l’Energetique (Algeria). He is also the director of the Crystal Growth and Metallurgical Processes (CCPM) and Head of the environmental team. His research interests include adsorption, membrane processes,
electrochemical processes using sacrificial anodes, Advanced Oxidation Processes, and recovery of by-products from industrial waste. He has published more than 95 papers in ISI-ranked journals with more than 1500 citations and his h-index is 25. Dr. Drouiche was awarded TWAS-ARO YAS Prize 2012: “Sustainable Management of Water Resources in the Arab Region”.

The main Research Topics are food quality, safety and processing. After first experience (10 years) in private industry (Know How transfer in food industry). He was in 1985 to 1989 as research Engineer, in Burundi (East Africa Country), in the scope of CIRAD/Office of coffees from Burundi.
From 89 until retired time (2014); Max Reynes is in charge of the Mixed Research Unit (Cirad- Supagro, Universities of Montpellier ( UM1 & UM2) “QUALISUD” specialized in tropical Food Quality”, Montpellier , including 75 researcher, 55 PHD student and 33 technical employees.
Max REYNES have been 2 years in Costa Rica (technical cooperation exchange with Cirad) and 2years in Venezuela, he is author or co-author of 150.publications or international presentation in international congress ,5 patents, co-author of two books on food technology and he supply technical expertise , in the area of food technologies for more than 80 foods plants company in more than 50 south countries.
Professor Alaeddin Bobat, Kocaeli University
Alaeddin Bobat was born in Mersin-Turkey in 1963. He started at Karadeniz Technical University (KTU), Faculty of Forestry in 1981 and gained bachelor ranking first in class in 1985. He began graduate study at Scientific and Technical Institute of KTU in 1986 and completed graduate study(MSc) in 1988. After mandatory military duty in 1988, he started as a research assistant in KTU. He obtained PhD degree at the same institute in 1995. He took office as an Assoc. Prof. at Mersin University in 1996.
Among 1996-1998, he served as a Vice Dean and Head of Department of the Faculty. In 1998, he worked for Portsmouth University-UK as a researcher. In 2002, he began active duty in Kocaeli University, Vocational School of Arslanbey. He gained endowed professorship in 2004. And he worked for the same University since 2002. Alaeddin Bobat who is editorial members and reviewers in international scientific journals has scientific publications more than one hundred.
